About Me

Welcome to My Blog

After several careers in different fields, I discovered painting. In my late 50's, I finally decided what I want to be when I grow up. I call myself a late bloomer.

My home is in Unionville Ontario, about 35 miles or so north east of Toronto. Unionville is situated in picturesque country with gently rolling landscape, open countryside and access to Nature in many forms. You can call me a Nature nut. One of my favorite activities is walking along this trail.

As an artist, I love color.

I have experimented in many media. Currently, I am painting in acrylic, with some mixed media. The unifying theme in all these works is color. What a dreary world it would be without color.

I paint florals, landscapes and abstracts. My abstracts are inspired by the flow and movement I see in Nature.

Artist Statement

Art is design, and design is everywhere

Whether it is a beautiful flower, a majestic mountain, a sleek Ferrari, an awesome skyscraper, a simple tea cup, or the striations in a rock

Everything has design

As I look at the world around me, I am filled with awe at the profusion of colors, textures, and infinite variety of shapes - all elements of design - combining harmoniously in never ending ways

Color is my joy; color is the first thing I see; color is exciting
Texture gives depth and meaning to color

Art is also communication. Through my paintings, I describe the designs I see, and the emotions they evoke in me

I hope that my paintings will also evoke an emotional response in the viewer, and create an awareness of the beautiful work of art that life is
